Hey,
If you spray water on your Hermit crab sand, will it increase the humidity? Also will it help if I put a warm towel on top  the tank (it is plastic)

Absolutely. In fact I mix my substrate with water until it reaches sandcastle consistancy (before it ever put it in) so that they can dig if they want to.

Try getting some natural moss from walmart (not the spanish moss) and soaking it in dechlorinated salt water. Wring it out and put that in the tank. I've found that works much better to keep humidity up. You can also cover a portion of your tank top with saran wrap before putting your lid on, you need to leave a little bit open but this will help keep it in.
