QuestionI have a molting hermit crab who is outside his shell laying in his water bowl. Help I don't know what to do. I tried the glass cup method and he still won't go back in. He is in a molting tank by himself he molted his skelton 5 days ago and still hasn't eated any of it and this is the 2nd time he has come out and layed in his water bowl.
I am new to this. My son just got 3 crabs in january and this is the 1st molt.
AnswerWhat are the temperature and humidity readings of the molting tank? Is he under water?
Usually when they leave a shell it's becuase it's too hot or there's something irritating them in the shell.
Molting is a stressful time for a crab. Some won't make it, so be prepared for this. Offer him honey, calcium, and proteins.
