Question
Im using natural reptile bedding made of Fir tree chips for the bottom of my crab habitat. The package of the chips says it will work for crabs and is heat treated to resist mites, but should I use sand instead? Or am I fine just using the reptile bedding? Thank you for any help you offer.

Answer
Roy,                                                         Personally I keep mine on crushed coral. It is easy to rinse when you need to clean it. You can put it in damp. They eat it. It provides calcium and salt.Sand needs to be sifted and if you are misting them the reptibark can draw fungus gnats which cause mites. They are their larvae. They are extremely haard to get rid of. Good Luck, Tina
