Question
to who it may concern,
my daughter has a pet hermit crab she went to look in on him and he was all the way out of his shell and very lifeless will not move.the same time my daughter had put a cracker in some time for them to eat and it had molded in there cage.the other hermit crab is fine but the one is life less can a molded cracker kill a hermit crab the mold was prety bad it filled the corner of the cage,i will wait for your answer thank you!marie

Answer
If the mold was so bad that it traveled across the substrate then yes, it could definitely cause major problems for a crab. I recommend completely changing the substrate and keeping a closer eye on the food in the tank. Crabs are susceptible to bacteria and mold in such a closed environment.
