QuestionAlright so while I was in the outer banks Ipicked up a hermit crab, no biggy right? I brought it home and researched proper care and everything. I read it needed a partner. So i got one at petco. As soon as I put the new crab in the tank my old one rushed over and i thin its mating it got on top of the other one and hasnt gotten off it. its making a weird low duck quack but its been fifteen hours and im worried. please answer back!
AnswerIf you got it out of the tide pools you need to take it back, it's not a land hermit crabs. There are no land hermit crabs in NC. Give the new one a dip in the water dishes and offer them some steamed shrimp with the tails still on. But if this is not a petstore hermit crab it needs to go back to the beach ASAP!
