QuestionHI, I have these little bugs on my hermit crab and I'm very concerned, They look Like little grains of sand and I only saw two on him but I don't know what to do. I was wondering if you think they will kill him because if so I will get him a new tank? He's the size of a baseball and I think he can handle two itty bitty bugs but I just want to make sure....Thank you
AnswerWhere on the crab did you see them. If they were on the joints or the abdomen, they are mites and will eventually multiply enough to damage your crab. You need to replace all the bedding and wash your tank out with vinegar and water and give your crab a bath in ocean style salt water until the mites are gone.
