QuestionQUESTION: hi i have a pretty big hermit crab its been a family pet for a few years now he lives in a marine tank i noticed something he is moulting that im sure of but he hasnt burried its self i thought he was dead at first but i see two eyes wiggling about down his old body is this normal for him to do as it scared the life out of us is there any thing we can do to help him through the whole process
ANSWER: I'm not sure what you mean exactly by marine tank. Do you mean that the crab is a marine (underwater) crab? Because land and marine hermit crabs are very different. A land crab will drown if under water too long. A marine must live under water.

QUESTION: hi yer he is an under water hairy red legged hermit crab
AnswerI don't know a lot about marine hermit crabs but is possible he is just molting. I'm sorry I'm not more help. Land hermit crabs and marine hermit crabs are very different. I would recommend that you ask your question to a salt water fish tank expert. They will have more experience with marine hermit crabs.
