Hermit crab losing two of it left leg after molting

Hi
My hermit crab lost two of it legs right after it molt. :( I have seen some small mites crawling on his exo when he molt. Now he can still walk. Is he ok? What should i do?

It sounds like you have a major problem with mites. That is probably what lead to the crab dropping his legs after the molt as mites can severely irritate the joints. You need to completely clean your tank, bake all bakeable items at 250 after soaking in salt water for at least an hour. Give crabs a bath in tepid, dechlorinated, ocean style salt water and then rinse in fresh water.
