The best thing to feed a guinea pig is food specifically for guinea pigs at your local pet store. Guinea Pigs must also have vitamin C in their diet everyday. They can not produce vitamin C in their bodies, so you must give them something with lots of Vitamin C in their diet or else they will get scurvy. Feeding them oranges everyday is what I do at work. They have vitamin drops you can put in their diet that contain vitamin C and some foods do contain vitamin C but guinea pig food does not contain enough vitamin C for them. Guinea Pigs also need a fresh daily supply of grass hay. The most common to use is Timothy Hay. They require unlimited amounts of Timothy Hay everyday as well. They love to play in it, eat it and use the bathroom in it which is perfectly fine. A variety of fresh fruits and leafy vegetables is also good for them as well.
