Question
my guinea pig squeals every time you touch her. especially her bottom. why?

oh and my guinea pig is very skiddish and when i put her on the floor she just sits there. but when shes in her cage she runs away from me very fast iv tried everything like approaching her real slow still no progress ....does this mean she needs a friend? and if it does how will i get her one because I'm scared they might flight please get me some answers i really need to know.

Your pig might be uncomfortable with you touching her bottom because something hurts when you touch it. Please take a look gently under the fur and let me know if you see any dandruff or red marks there.

In terms of her behaviour, most guinea pigs will freeze in large open spaces. Its part of their natural defences, as they think that if they stand still, potential enemies wont be able to see them. The same applies to her running away, its totally natural.

None of this means she needs a friend, but that she is just a little scared. If you were to get another female pig, there is generally no problems as females dont usually fight like males do. Take a look at the link below which gives you a step-by-step guide in introducing 2 new pigs together.
