Guinea Pig; Weight

My guinea pig got very big and his fat hangs out. I understand they should be plump but his weight is not normal. What should the weight of a one year old guinea pig be?

Hi Staci,

There is no set healthy weight for guinea pigs as it depends on their gender, breed, and the size of the litter they come from.

If you think he's getting fat though, he probably is! If you tell me his typical daily diet I will let you know where I think you can cut back.
