New piggie

Question
I have a new piggie I got yesterday. I have her in a separate cage from the one I own to observe her for a while and I've noticed she doesn't make any noises, rarely runs around and won't touch the fresh foods I offer her. She does walk around a bit when offered an open run but will generally assume a position by a corner. She did the hay and some pellets that I left in her cage. Our other girl makes all sorts of noises and 'popcorns' and runs all about but this new one just sits in a corner quiet. Her eyes seem clear, her nose is clear and her breathing is quiet. Her droppings are well formed. Is she just shy or could she be sick? I'm not sure what to think.
Thanks in advance!
Mary

Answer
Hello,
Some guineas take longer then others to settle in to their new homes, scatter treats around the hutch and run to encourage her to run around more. If she is perfectly healthy then you may have just bought two guineas with totally different personalities. She should settle down in a few days and become more bold when she gets used to her surroundings. When you get her out make sure you give her something she likes so she knows she will be rewarded every time she comes out.
I hope this helps and please don't hesitate to ask me some more questions, sorry I took so long to reply I wasn't feeling too well.
