Answer
I am so sorry to hear about your piggie. But, this happens all of the time. I have a list of NEVERS that you should think about before you buy another.  Please remember it was not your fault. The problem is the way that the pet stores get them and keep them. Also the sales people do not always know what they are talking about. ALWAYS, buy a piggie from a BREEDER, they care for their animals and know all about them. Also, they will never sell you a sick animal!

OK here is my list of NEVERS:
1. never buy a sick animal
2. never buy a dirty or smelly animal
3. never buy an animal that is hurt
4. never buy an animal that is losing hair
5. never buy an animal that tries to bite you
6. never buy a bone skinny animal
7. never buy an animal with crusty eyes or any eye problem
8. never buy an animal that the group has shunned or is ignoring others
9. never believe the sales people, they only know what they are told
10. never buy an animal that doesn't eat or drink while you are in the store
11. never buy an animal that doesn't move well or can't move
12. never buy an animal that won't play with you
13. never buy an animal because you feel sorry for it or think that you can save it

If you go to a breeder you will be able to buy a happy and healthy animal for a reasonable price. Trust the breeder not just a person in a pet store! Please remember that this was not your fault.  How are the other 2 piggies. Now you must watch them for an signs of illness.
Good Luck, Cindy
