cavy wheezing

I'm visiting my mom who recently got 2 guinea pigs I noticed one wheezes when he talks to us I need too know if we should take him to a vet or if we need to change his bedding or something he's in pine bedding

Guinea pigs have a variety of noises they make, and when they are 'wheeking' at you they do sometimes sound like they're wheezing.  Each animal has it's own little set of sounds they make and soon you learn to recognize the loud whistling when the refrigerator door opens, and the little short purring noise that means they are enjoying your petting.

It doesn't sound to me like this pig has any medical problem. If it had any kind of respiratory wheezing it would be all the time, not just when being vocal.
