how to tell if my hamster is pregnet?

hello
my names kat and im 13 i have had 3 hamster a long haired teddy bear and a short haired something and another that i dont know the breed of and one of then died which was the  short haried and i had just bought two black bear hmasters and i dont know what breed they are and well i was woundering if one way to tell if there pregnet is by the (the guy that helped me and my mom said that they were belly tits or something) and if they have those and like both of my hamster have them and only one of the hamsters are realyl noticeable because they tips are like a yellowish color

well thnx if you could give me some tips or something to tell if they are pregnet

Hi Kat,

Well, first of all, if your hamsters are Syrian hamsters (the bigger hamsters - Syrian hamsters are also called "Black Bear" and "Teddy Bear" hamsters), they must be put into separate cages.  Syrian hamsters are solitary, and they must be kept alone, even if one is male and one is female.  If they are kept together, they will fight constantly, and one will probably kill the other.

As for your question - Males and females have nipples ("tits").  Females' nipples are more noticeable.  To tell if your female hamster is pregnant, pay attention to her behavior.  She will begin to make a large nest in a corner of her cage and put food in it.  She will also begin to get larger.  If she is pregnant, she will have babies after 16 days.  Here's a great website with everything else you need to know:
