Question
My daughters cat had the hampster in her mouth. I was able to catch her before she killed him but he is holding up his right front leg and his right eye is kinda shut. He's eating and trying to clean himself. Do you think he'll be ok? How can I tell if his leg has been broken? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Answer
Hi Regina,

It would be best to take your hamster to the vet.  Your cat had her teeth in the hamster, which means he has sharp wounds, which means he's ripe for a serious infection from the cat's saliva.  If his leg is badly broken, it will be bent at an odd angle.  However, it's very possible that you won't be able to tell if his leg is broken, or if there is any other serious damage.  That's why I would very strongly recommend that you take your hamster to your local vet.  Good luck.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.
