Weird lump on hamsters face.

My hampster has a big lump on the side of his face, close to his mouth, right below is right eye.  It is swollen and makes his eye almost stay shut.  The swollen area is red.  Any idea what this might be, or what I should do?

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, but I didn't get your question until now.
What you described sounds like an impacted cheek pouch.  This means something sharp is probably stuck in your hamster's cheek pouch.  You need to see if you can find what it is and take it out.  If you cant or even if you do, you should still take your hamster to the vet.  The vet will be able to remove this and give any treatment necessary to stop an infection from developing.
