Question
I have had my mouse for a year and in the last week he has been scratching more often mainly on his head to the point where he has lost his fur on the back of his head between his ears. He has scratched it so much  it has become very red and has split the skin. I have tried insecticide shampoo and mite and flea powder but it has not improved.Any advice?

Answer
hello, your mouse needs to go to a vet asap. It sounds like he has mange mites which you need to go to a vet to get an antibiotic for. Mange Mites live under the skin and cause severe skin irritation as well as scaley skin and loss of fur. There isn't really anything outside of a vet treatment that can be done for these type of mites.
