Question
I have a problem my little hampster (male 1 1/2 yrs) has devloped two spots on his skin around the ribs near his back. The spots seem to have lost some hair, they are blackish in color. The spots themselves dont seem to bother him at all.Everything is changed regularly for him every 5 days or so and he gets a bath every 2 weeks (hes a messy lad). I don't see anything that looks like a mite. The big problem is the vet is off tomorrow and my car is down so any thing out of town is out of sight.
What could it be? is there something i can do to stifel them untill the vet is back on monday?

Answer
It sounds like a tumor or cancer, I'm sorry for this to happen and am not surprised.  Most of my Hams die of cancer towards there older age, my advice is let him be relaxed as possible until his time comes.... I'm sorry there isn't more I can say to help.
