Mating Dwarf Hamsters

Question
I have just purchased three female robo dwarf hamsters. Or at least they were supposed to be female. The hamsters have gotten significantly larger since we go them and I am concerned that at least one of them is pregnant.

We lost one of our hamsters in our apartment for about a day, but then found it. I put it back in its cage and immediately I heard a strange noise coming from the cage and saw what appeared to be the two hamsters mating. Except they are supposed to be all female. Could it be that they were just happy to see the hamster back? or do you suppose that we accidentally got a male? I am very concerned about this because we DO NOT want baby hamsters. I immediately separated the two that appeared to be mating. What should I do?

Thank you so much for your time.

Answer

It is possible that you got a male. If you did there will be a bump on his bottom. If there isn't then this was just two females, trying to mate with each other. I know that sounds funny, but I have seen that before.
