how long after they are born are they reay to give away

not realy sure how old she is just got her not long agao sorry about that she has mated with my male and is ready to have babies any day i belive i want to no how long does she nurse and take care of them before they are ready to give away thank you

Hi Shannon,

       First you should start feeding her some hard boiled egg and carrots to give her the extra protein she needs to help raise her babies and continue doing this until the babies are seperated from their mother. Also make sure that after the babies are born, that the nest nor the babies are touched. At 2 weeks of age the babies can be handled for short periods of time and the cage can be cleaned.

        At 3 weeks of age the babies are fully weaned and no longer require the mother's milk although they may still suckle if she has milk available. The babies should be moved into two separate cages (one for females and one for males) to avoid breeding at this young age.

        At 5-6 weeks of age the babies are ready to go to their new home.
