Hmaster eyes

Question
I went to get my hamster out of her cage last night to play with her and I noticed that her eyes looked like they were bloody or something. I was wondering what could be the cause of this. I just got her 6 days ago. The other hamster is doing fine. I dont think they have been fighting because when I got them, the people there told me as long as there is enough room it wil be fine and there is plenty of room for 2 hamsters. There are 2 cages connected together with food and water in each of them. As soon as you could answer would be great.

it does sound like your hamsters have been fighting, you will need to keep a very close eye on them. if they are syrians (the big ones) they should not be housed together, though it can be ok to have dwarf hamsters together (except chinese ones). but even dwarf hamsters fight, especially if they are male and female.

its unusual for blood to appear in an eye infection, which is why im thinking that they are infact fighting. clean the wound with a cotton bud and luke warm water. if it doesnt get any better, see a vet, or if you see them fighting, you will have to completely seperate the cages, or take one back to the store.
