my black baer hamster is loosing fur and has a bump on his back hes two and a half and my mom thinks hes just old but hge isint himself

Hi Serabie,

Most likely, your mother is correct.  Two and half years is a long time for a hamster to live, so he is pretty old.  Most hamsters lose fur as they age, especially around the stomach and hips.  And, like humans, they "slow down" as they age, and they don't have as much energy; they like to sleep a lot.  The bump, on the other hand, could be a cyst or a tumor, so I would recommend that you take your hamster to the vet to have it checked out.
