if i get my scent on a pair of gloves would i be able to train my hamster that way?

Hi,
No, I wouldn't use gloves at all, as there is an increased chance of him biting afterwards, even if you have your scent on it. Just be brave and go through the steps gradually. My hamster has never bitten me, even when I was training him. Don't pull your hand away if he sniffs though.
Also, the hamster's bite doesn't hurt that much, it's more shock. Yes, it bleeds a bit, but it doesn't usually hurt.
