Question
hi lauren,
I was wondering if introducing a young female to an older or same aged male is always successful and if both can be housed together?

Answer
That should be fine.  Make sure your female is no older than one year though as she can have serious complications.  Always introduce the female into the male's cage as doing it in reverse will usually end in a big fight as females can be quite dominant.  If they take to each other and breed, the male can be kept in the same cage and will actually help raise the pups.  However, know that they can re-mate in 24 hours so you may want to separate if you don't want another litter.  Females will do best if that have at least a month between the last litter and the next breeding with no more than 4 litters.
