HI,
my hamster Gizmo ate through my phone charger while my phone was on charge and I was surprised that he didn't electrocute himself,why is this, I am rather curious.

I think Gizmo is a really lucky hamster!  Whilst phone chargers don't have a huge amount of electricity going through them I would have thought he would have received a shock of some degree.  Chances are the plug has a fuse in it and this may well have blown as a precaution.  Most times if you accidentally cut through a cable either the fuse in the plug blows or the main fuse box will blow.  

The problem with hamsters when they are out of their cage is that they do love nibbling anything they can find.  They explore items with their teeth to see if it is edible or something they want to put in their nest.  Obviously Gizmo was a little too curious on this occasion.  The moral of the story is to make sure Gizmo doesn't get to try this again!
