My new syrian hamster

Question
I have a 2 story cage for my new syrian hamster, cutie, but she seems reluctant to go downstairs.  She moves all her food upstairs and keeps it all in a corner - and seems to have poop in there too.  She has pushed all her woodshavings and bedding downstairs so that upstairs is bare.  I have put bedding back in her sleep area and she seems happy with that, but Im worried about her food mixing with poop and I dont know where she wees.  Please advise.  Thanks.

Answer
I have an aquarium with a look out tower. My hamster spends 90% of his day in that tower, where he pees, poops, sleeps, and eats. He only comes down to get a drink and gather more food. Bottom line is hamsters are silly when it comes to where they spend their time. Don't worry about food mixing in with their feces, mines been hoarding his food right next to his potty since I put it in, and he lives just fine. As long as you clean it all out weekly.
