Blind

QUESTION: HELP!!My hamster is going blind i think.I picked him up and he just stuck onto my hand and when i put him on the floor he wouldn't move...and in is cage he dosen't move around like normal (he is also very active when i put him on the floor).....is he going blind?

Hi Thu,

    Usually when they are going blind, their eye color will change (kind of like a whitish color or film covering the eye). I really just think that your hamster is somewhat starting to slow down do to age. This will usually start to happen around 10-12 month of age.
     As long as he is eating and drinking well and exercising, there isn't anything to worry about.
