What will I need to set-up for a single ferret?

How big should the cage be?

Is a male or a female better?


what toys should I get?

I always say the bigger the better!  They will not be happy in a small cage.  So I suggest buying as big as you can afford.  I normally get the 3 level cages.  You will need food, hammocks, toys and a water bottle.  You will need litter if you plan to litter train.  Just do not get anything with clay in it.  It doesn't really matter what sex you get as long as if you get a male it is descented.  As for toys, cat toys are best.  They also seem to like when you take small 20oz and smaller bottles and fill them with rocks.  Small rocks so that they can throw them around.  Hope this helps.
