Question
Our standard poodle gave birth to a litter one week ago.  She is doing well nursing and caring for the pups.  However, she has had a difficult time holding her bladder and she has been vomiting once or twice a day. She does not have a fever and has been active between nursing.  We have been feeding her four meals a day and she is always ravenous.

Answer
In my experience with my boxers we would have accidents in the house after pups and vomiting. the vet said this was normal but i would have to say that if it continues to take her for a checkup or if she stops eating.  feeding the 4 small meals a day is a good idea and if she still seems hungry feed her more. it takes alot out of a female to give birth and nurse pups. i always give my dogs vitamin c that you can get from walmart. this seemed to give them more energy and make them feel better overall. i do alot of home remidies with my dogs instead of taking them to the vet everytime. i dont think they need medicine everytime they arent feeling right. as long as she doesnt have a fever or if she doesnt stop eating then i would just keep an eye on her. i hope this helps and good luck with your pups. feel free to ask any other questions you may have.
