Low body temperature

Question
My Pomeranian is 1 year 8 months old, and 61 days pregnant on her third heat. I've been taking her temperature since two days ago, and it's been a constant 98 degrees. I called my vet and asked about this on day 59 of her pregnancy because I was concerned and he told me that it sounds like she's getting ready to deliver and to watch for signs of labour. Its been two days since I first took her temperature and she hasn't started nesting, she's not anxious, or anything. Shes just doing her normal self. I can really feel her puppies moving inside and there seemed to be a little bit of clear liquid on her vulva. She is however a really clean dog, so I don't know if she lost her mucus plug or not.

Right now all vets are closed and I can't get a hold of the emergency vet. Do you think this is threatening to her or the puppies because I've had a few people tell me (and I've read) that once it drops under 100, she should deliver within the first 24-48 hours, and it's now past that. Please help. :(

Answer
Hi Courtney

The thing with taking the temperature is this, are you taking it at the same time? Has she been laying in the sun? Sitting on the floor register?

There is no need to panic.  If she has a whelping box with clean towel and sheets, she'll be fine.  Just leave her be and let Mother Nature do her thing.

It all sounds like everything is right on track.
