Question
I have a 14 week old minpin pup that was given to me by a friend and he is seeming to be very aggressive toward my children. He bites and growls not just play biting either and i have only had him 2 days. He can be very loving and want to play and be cuddle too. My friend gave him to me because her german shepard pup of the same age tries to eat him she had him because her dad died a few weeks after he got him. The dog does not show food aggresion or toy either. But if the kids play and chase him he starts to growl and he has snapped at me also when he didnt want me to pick him up. Is this a behavier that can be corrected or should i give him back. In all fairness to Fonzie (the dog) my kids are rough they are used to dogs that play rough. I know they need to be corrected and that they need to be corrected and that it is much theirs and my fault as his. Is this a bad choice of breed for small kids or could it just be the dog. My friend says he got a little snappy with her too. HELP!

Answer
HI KELLI
I THINK MAYBE U SHOULD GIVE THE PUP TIME.  IT LOST ITS OWNER, NOW IN WITH CHILDREN IT IS CONFUSED.  IT SHOULD HAVE A BOSS AND LEADER TO TEACH IT RIGHT FROM WRONG AND PLEASE MAKE THE CHILDREN BE EASY WITH SUCH A SMALL DOG.
I KNOW PEOPLE THAT HAVE TWO OF THEM AND THEY WOULD BITE YOUR FEET OF IF THEY COULD, THEY ARE HIGHLY NASTEY, SO THIS MIGHT BE THEIR NATURE?  IF HE DOES NOT STRAIGHTEN UP YOU MIGHT NEED TO FIND HIM A HOME WTH OLDER PEOPLE OR COUPLE.  THEY ARE TRULY NOT CHILDREN DOGS, AT LEAST I DO NOT KNOW OF ANY FAMILY WITH KIDS THAT OWN ONE.  HE WOULD MOST LIKELY BE HAPPIER WITH A COUPLE OR OLDER PERSON THAT NEEDS A FRIEND.?  U WOULD HATE TO BE CONSTANTLY HOLLERING AT THE POOR THING ESPECIALLY IF THE KIDS ARE KINDA ROUGH.  HE MIGHT JUST TAKE A GOOD BITE OUT OF ONE. PERSONALLY, I WOULD FIND HIM A SUPER GOOD HOME WITHOUT KIDS.
