Dacshunds swim?

Did you ever find your answer to whether these dogs can swim?  We are considering this dog but we, too, have a pool and a boat.

I am afraid I still don't have any info on that.  Check www.akc.org and some of the sites they link to.  Most dogs do swim.  Surprisingly many of my Labs don't like to.  It may be I get them in the fall and never give them a chance until the next summer.  Get a young puppy and gently expose it to water, and likely it will enjoy it.
