my toy maltipoo is 8 weeks and i dont know if she having her period shes kinda bloody in the butt area and i cant tell if her area is swollen or not i dont know and im scared is she on her period or what

Hi Stacey,

At just 8 weeks old, your puppy is still just a baby. If she is having any kind of bloody discharge at this age it is not her heat cycle beginning! A dog's heat cycle usually starts sometime around 6-8 months of age, and you should have her spayed before that even occurs, so she can gain the most health benefits.

If you're seeing blood you need to have your puppy examined by a veterinarian. You shouldn't put this off, as some causes for rectal bleeding can indicate a life threatening condition.
