What can I do for my dogs ear?

Hi,
    I really hope you can help me.  I have a 18 mth. old lab/burmese mtn. dog mix who is digging his ear.  I clean it out w/wipes and q tips and I get brown matter.  But when he shakes his head it sounds like wet.  I've even used ear powder, but that didn't help.  There is no odor.  What can I do to help my poor guy?

Hi Sharon, I would definitely get him into a vet.  He might have a foxtail down in his ear or an inner ear infection in the second ear canal.  Either way, you don't want to be digging that far down into his ear as you can do some damage.  You definitely don't want to dig in there if he has a foxtail as you can push it further into the ear and make things worse.  Hope this helps,
