Question
My cat is 21 years old, so he is not very active. He mostly sits in the window all day, and the only time he comes out is to eat or use the litter box. He is developing sores on his hind legs, and I was wondering if there was anything we could do to keep them from getting worse. Should we take him to the vet? or would they be able to give us some type of medicine without having to bring him in?

Answer
Erika-

How serious are the sores? Some antibacterial ointment like neosporin would help, but really, your vet would be able to offer better suggestions. I would also talk to the vet about ways to improve his circulation, such as massaging his legs and back every now and then while he is resting, and also perhaps a pill to help with blood flow. The sores themselves are only part of the problem.

I hope your baby feels better! 21 is an incredible achievement and I hope he has many more years left with you!
