My Golden Retriever

My golden retrievers fur has recently started turning red around her eyes and face (bearing in mine she has always stayed very white and her fur has never changed to the dark golden color), should I be concerned and does this need checking out by a vet.  She is now 13 and a half.

Red, as in stained, or red as in Golden Retriever red (as opposed to gold)?

Some dogs' hair stains red from the pH of their saliva and tear drops and if her pH has changed recently then she should be checked over by your vet. If the hair is just coming in a different color, then I wouldn't worry about it, and just ask the vet about it the next time you go in for something.
