Question
I'm afraid to feed her human food only because she might get overweight, that's what happened to our pom. but her coat is very shiny that people always ask why she's wet. we feed our bulldogs eukanuba, so i will switch her to that. i read somewhere that i should give her nolvadent and glyoxide for her teeth, i wanted to know your input on that.

how can you tell the difference from a yorkie and a silky?

Hi I have a 5 month old yorkie, and I wanted to know if you can give me any advice in caring for her teeth.  Also, right now i'm feeding her purina pro, and i'm not sure if it is the best type of food to feed her.  I want to make sure I am caring for her as much as possible.

Hi Irish,
I would switch her to a better dog food like Eukanuba puppy food and keep her on it for about 6 more months.  I would also put a little dark chicken or chopmeat with that for her coat.
Make the switch slowly so her belly doesn't get messed up and because the Eukanuba is not always a favorite for dogs I would add the chopmeat and chicken to it in small amounts.  You can put it in a crock pot with a good bit of water  say two cups and evn put that on it.
The best thing in the world for teeth is to chew on bones.  Make them very large so she can't break any small pieces off (a beef or lamb knuckle bone).  It will be greasy so be careful where she eats it.   You can also brush her teeth with a poultry flavored toothpaste.  This is enzymes and you don't really have to scrub just get it on the teeth.

Answer
If you look at the bag of dog food you give your dog, you will see that the main ingredient is chicken and rice.  so how is feeding your dog fresh chicken, that has not been overcooked and over processed, feeding her people food.  It is more likely that we are eating the dogs food.
I wouldn't give a little dog any chemicals for her teeth.  I would buy her large knuckle bones for her to chew.  I have been told my dog needed his teeth done.  I gave him a large bone took him back to the vet and they said I could wait awhile.  Make sure the food is the puppy formular Eukanuba.
a yorkie has a different head than a silky.  yorkie has a  shorter nose and longer hair and a slightly different ear.  the yorkie body is slightly shorter as well.
