Looking for breeders of shih-tzu mixes or any type of maltipoo/yoorkipoos

I cannot find any breeders in the metropolitan NY area. We live in Long Island NY

Part of your problem in trying to find a breeder for  Malti-poo/ Yorki-poos, etc. is that they are not real dog breeds. Rather, they are popular cross bred dogs.

I found one "breeder" for you:

Keep in mind that a reputable dog breeder is not breeding their dogs for the purpose of creating mixed breed puppies. Any "breeder" selling any of theses "poo" mix dogs are charging an exorbitant fee, with no concerns for the genetic health of the puppies, since there are no breed standards to maintain.
The $550 price listed at the "breeder" listing above is an insaine amount of money to pay for a mixed breed dog.

Use the "Quick Pet Finder" search feature on the left side of the home page. It goes by your zip code, so only local pets will be shown.
More often than not, the dogs and puppies available at PetFinder are cross breeds, so if you were to do a search for Shih-tzus, Maltese dogs for example, you'd probably have a selection of dogs, with some of the very characteristics you're looking for.

You could also expand the "hits" to your search by conducting a search at PetFinder using just the age and size of the dog/puppy as the search parameters, meaning you'd just be viewing small size dogs or puppies of every breed (or breed mix) that are near you.
