QuestionWe have a male pitbull that is 2-1/2. He lives in the house with us, and is basically "another child" here. I have a 2-1/2 child that has been raised with the dog and they get along great. My problem is that we also had another dog, a female cocker, that recently passed away. Our pit is very lonely without her, so we are wanting to get another dog. A friend has a dog that she just rescued and needs to find a home for - a 10 pound wiener mix female. She says it gets along great with her bigger dogs, but i am a bit concerned. From your experience, do you think my pit will accept such a dog?
AnswerYes i think they will get along fine, seeing that both dogs are used to other dogs
But it is still a good idea to do things slowly, like even just letting them sniff each other through a gate-and don't leave them alone together for a while, unless you can see both dogs
and for even as long as six months when you are not home separate them just in case
