Question
hi i brought a cavalier for breeding she is nearly 5 years old i got her home and noticed she had hernia confirmed by a vet it is a reducable one because you can push the hernia back in to the stomach she has a umbilical hernia but im not sure if i could still breed from her the vet wants to repair the hernia but only if she can spayed her at the same time thats not what i want as i brought her to breed can you help in any way

Answer
Hi Wade,  You can still breed her, and the umbilical hernia can be repaired without spaying her.  It is just easier for vets to spay them while they have them opened up.  Call around to other vets to see if anyone else will repair it without spaying her.  Hope this helps,
