Bedding for nursing dog

I have a great Pyrenees that has six new puppies. I want to put her and the pups back in the insulated dog house but need to know what bedding to use that is safe.

The traditional straw should be fine.  

All the people I know keep their dog and litter in the house.  If you give the mother room, all the soiling will go on newspaper which you can easily dispose of keeping the mother and puppies clean.  If you had done the research anybody breeding dogs should have done, you would understand the importance of allowing the mother to keep things clean.
