my shihtzu

i have a shihtzu that is about 3 yrs old. he itches all the time i have tried stuff from the pet store and it just doesnt work. i give him baths have used oatmeal shampoo from pet store nothing seems to work. he itches constantly and it drives me crazy. i can imagine it must drive him nuts to any suggestions???

I am not a vet and have no medical training, but I just read of a dog who's "allergies" were caused by a thyroid problem.  You're dog is a little young for thyroid problems, but it might be something to bring up with your vet.  You could also ask about benadryl or prednisone for you dog, but you wouldn't want either of those as a long term solution.
