New pup jealous of our other dog

Question
WE have a 10 month old rotti x GSD and she is lovely who we have had for 8 months. We recently adopted a rotti pup 6 months old who has a calm and gentle personality, except when she is play fighting with our other dog, she growls snarls and bares her teeth. I'm not sure if its because she is just that kind of play fighter, so i don't correct her unless it appears to get out of hand, my x loves her and will play fight non stop, even when the pup gets a little over zealous. Also i try my best to give them even attention but the pup will push my x out of the way to get the cuddles, even when I'm stoking them both she still wants it to just be her. My x breed doesn't appear to mind as she is so layed back but i don't think its fair on her and would love to know how to make my pup happy to share.

Answer
It doesn't sound like th eplaing is a problem.  As for the attention, perhaps it is a matter of giving both dogs stronger leadership.  The key to most behavior problems is approaching things using the dog's natural instincts. Dogs see all the people and dogs in the household as a pack with each having their own rank in the pack and a top dog. Life is much easier if the 2 legged pack members outrank the 4 legged ones. You can learn to play the role of top dog by reading some books or going to a good obedience class. A good obedience class or book is about you being top dog, not about rewarding standard commands with a treat.
