maltese problem urinating

we have a 8 year old Maltese. he was neutered as a puppy. he is having trouble urinating and his stool looks ribbon like. we had a vet say it could be prostrate cancer. is this possible since he was neutered. we are going for a second opinion.

Hello, I wouldnt say prostate cancer after all that is why we alter our pets so they cant get this or cancer of the uterus or ovries in females...do you have another vet in the area? try going to him or her instead for a second opinion and really I dont see how he could have this if he doenst have his testicles!
