Pale Gums in Dogs

Question
What can cause dogs to have pale gums?  Nothing has changed in his life.  Everything has been the same. He is a 1 year old pit bull.

Answer
Pale gums can be a sign of anemia.  If he normally has pink gums, then it definitely could be.  Some dogs normally have pale gums, and if he is acting normal - normal appetite, water consumption, bowel movements, etc. - then it is likely nothing to worry about.  However, if his behavior has changed, he's not eating or is very lethargic then you need to take him to a vet soon to find out exactly what is going on with him.
