2 little puppies!!

Help,
I love these 2 little pups, however, when we leave or go to put them to bed at night, or just put them in their pen that my husband built, they really whine.  One whines more than the other.  They are litter mates, and we rescued them from the pound.  We have one large crate and they both fit in there comfortably, I am wondering if they need serperate crates, or if I need to put a blanket on the crate when I leave.  My neighbour complained last night and feel terrible that these little guys are keeping our neighbours up at night as well as us.  Please advise

Hello Deborah,  You didn't mention how long you have had them, but usually within a week or less they adapt.  I would try covering the crate and or leaving a radio on during the day for some sound.  I would not however separate them.  Go to this website as I am sure you will find some useful training information.  http://www.dogpsychologycenter.com/
