Question
For exercise demands how would you compare the jack russell terrier and chihuahua?   which requires more exercsie and what type(walking/in house or yard?)

Answer
Hi there,

The Jack Russell terrier is very adaptable and will exercise itself in a small yard, but it will be in its glory with space to run, hunt and play.
They are very active indoors.
If you work outside of the home, you must exercise a Jack Russell by taking it for a good run, or long walk at least once a day.

A Chihuahua requires a lot less exercise. They are good little dogs for apartment life. They usually get sufficient exercise indoors, though they appreciate at least one daily walk, if the weather is nice.

Besides a dog's activity level, you should consider the aggressiveness of the breed. Though small, a Chihuahua can be a fairly aggressive breed.

You might want to try out this free online breed selector, it will suggest a breed of dog based on your lifestyle:

Whatever breed you are considering, you should read up on it's health concerns. Just about every purebred breed usually has a particular problem associated with it.

I hope I've been a help.
