MY PUPPY HAD WORMS IN HIS STOOL OVER THE WEEKEND AND THE PET STORE RECOMMENDED DWORM MED, NOW HE HAS DIARRHEA. DO YOU THINK I NEED TO TAKE HIM TO THE VET? BY THE WAY THE WORMS ARE GONE.

Thank you for writing to me about your sweet puppy.

Sometimes a pet store will recommend a general deworming medicine without considering the needs of a specific dog.  When you bring you dog to a vet for worm and parasite problems, they check for the specific agents as well as your dog's general health...and perscribe accordingly.

Therefore, my suggestion is to have your vet make sure that your puppy is not having a bad reaction to the medication which could have serious consequences.
