is it better to get a female or male kitten if we already have a 2 year old female dog in the house? the dog is a small terrier mix. thanks.

I don't know that the sex of the kitten is of importance, other than I might be afraid a male might start spraying in the house.

I would, however, be concerned about the dog. Just how "gamey" is she? Some terriers think that any small creature is fair game. Is she used to being around cats? I would keep a close eye on the two, and not leave them loose together without supervision until the kitten has some size and can get out-of-reach of the dog.
